AHA

Alpha hydroxy acids, or AHAs, are natural compounds derived from plants, flowers, and fruits. They work on the surface of the skin to remove dead cells, promoting the regeneration of new cells. This process leaves the skin cleaner, clearer, and smoother, tightens pores, and restores softness and radiance.

AHAs are particularly prized for their anti-aging properties: they smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce spots. They are also very effective in reducing acne scars and skin blemishes. Water-soluble, AHAs mix with water, thus prolonging hydration by preventing the evaporation of water contained in the skin, which improves the quality of the skin barrier.

Glycolic acid is the best known of the AHAs, but there are others, such as lactic acid, citric acid and malic acid. Combined, these acids provide a complete and effective peel, refining the skin's texture and improving the penetration of the treatments applied afterwards.

AHAs are suitable for all skin types, but it is essential not to use them daily. Excessive use can damage the skin barrier, especially if the skin is not used to them. You can start using them once a week and then gradually increase their application. After applying AHAs, it is crucial to moisturize and nourish the skin to maintain its balance and health.
