Tranexamic acid
Tranexamic acid is a key ingredient in skin care, particularly appreciated for its effectiveness against dark spots. Originally used in medicine, it has proven to be very effective in reducing hyperpigmentation by reducing the excess production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin spots. This ingredient is particularly effective in fading post-acne marks, especially on dark skin tones, and it also helps to visibly reduce redness. In addition, it targets various processes responsible for hyperpigmentation.
To enhance its lightening effect, tranexamic acid can be combined with ingredients such as vitamin C, kojic acid, niacinamide, or alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), all of which work synergistically to brighten the complexion and even out the skin. To ensure optimal effectiveness, the concentration of tranexamic acid in a product should be between 2 and 5%.
Tranexamic acid is suitable for all skin types, ages, and skin tones. It can be used daily, morning and/or evening, with sun protection during the day if used in the morning, to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun.
